Linda Sofia Tidenberg (b. Finland, 1994) is a Finnish-Karelian glass artist whose work intricately weaves contemporary design with Indigenous cultural revival. Rooted in Karelian heritage—an Indigenous Baltic-Finnic people with a distinct language, mythology, and animistic worldview—Tidenberg uses glass as both medium and message, crafting visual landscapes where ancient beliefs, personal memory, and cultural narratives merge.
Her art reveals invisible layers—fading memories, echoes of myth, and quiet wisdom—inviting viewers through portals to other times and states of consciousness where reality and dream intertwine. Beginning her glass practice in 2023, Tidenberg rapidly gained international recognition, exhibiting at The Venice Glass Week and Germany’s Rheinbach Glass Museum within her first year. Venice marked a defining moment, affirming her voice and opening space for her culture on a global platform.
Honoring the breath, fire, and ritual of traditional glassblowing, her work embodies transformation, patience, and resilience. Her acclaimed Frozen Puddles series (51 Days, A Puddle, A Puddle in Australia) captures ephemeral moments suspended in time—nature’s poetry and fading traditions crystallized in glass.
Drawing from Baltic-Finnic animism, her pieces reflect a living world where forests, lakes, moss, and animals are imbued with spirit. With a background in interior design, Tidenberg brings spatial awareness and craftsmanship to every creation, blending myth, material, and lived experience into evocative storytelling through glass.

“Ancient Karelian belief is filled with symbolism, stories, and deep respect for nature—offering a timeless foundation for visual and narrative art. Through my sculptures, I weave these traditions into glass, bringing old stories into new hands and helping both the culture and the craft endure.”
